Former Virginia First Lady Anne Holton to Campaign on Behalf of Senator Tim Kaine in Newport News and Richmond

On Saturday, October 27, Former Virginia First Lady and Virginia Secretary of Education Anne Holton will host events in Newport News and Richmond. In the morning, she will join Pamela Northam in Newport News and share her husband Senator Tim Kaine’s message of building a Virginia with good jobs, education, and equality for all. In the afternoon, the two will join Former Virginia First Lady Lisa Collis at Virginia Union University in Richmond for a discussion about the importance of women in leadership. Holton will highlight Kaine’s longtime commitment to empowering women and fighting for women’s equality.

Kaine co-sponsored the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act. He has passed legislation to help prevent sexual assault and harassment in our schools, colleges, and the military, and has fought to protect a woman’s constitutional freedom to make her own health care choices.

Saturday’s discussion is the final set of a series of events with former Virginia First Ladies Anne Holton, Dorothy McAuliffe, Lisa Collis, and Pamela Northam in the Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, and Richmond areas.

Media interested in attending these events should contact Kaine campaign press secretary Brandon Gassaway at brandon@timkaine.com.
