Tim Kaine to Focus on Education and Economic Opportunity in Communities of Color in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake

On Friday, August 3, Tim Kaine will focus on education and expanding economic opportunity in communities of color at campaign stops in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. In the morning, he will host a conversation in Virginia Beach on the importance of improving public schools, supporting teachers, and preparing kids with the skills and training they need to get good jobs. Earlier this week, President Trump signed a law that included provisions from three of Kaine’s bills to strengthen career and technical education for students across the country.

In the afternoon, he will participate in a discussion about supporting minority-owned businesses and economic opportunity in Chesapeake. At the event, he will discuss improving job prospects and promoting economic growth in communities of color. Later, Kaine will join community members and grassroots volunteers to celebrate the opening of his Chesapeake field office.

At all of these events, Kaine will emphasize the high stakes of this election and share his message of making education, jobs, and opportunity available to every Virginian.

Media interested in covering or speaking with Senator Kaine at this event should RSVP to Brandon Gassaway at brandon@timkaine.com.
