At Northern Virginia Events, Kaine to Emphasize Community Violence Prevention and Issues Facing Latino Community, Continuing Weeklong Focus on Virginians’ Safety
Senator Tim Kaine will continue his weeklong focus on keeping Virginians safe with events Tuesday and Wednesday in Northern Virginia emphasizing community violence prevention and issues facing the Latino community. Kaine will lay out his plans to address important challenges facing Virginians, from reducing crime and gun violence to keeping schools safe for Virginia’s children.
On Tuesday in Prince William County, Kaine will host a discussion on community violence prevention in Manassas, where he will engage law enforcement, juvenile and family services professionals, and other local stakeholders in a conversation on reducing crime, supporting youth, and strengthening community safety. Tenth District Democratic congressional candidate Jennifer Wexton will also participate. Later, in Haymarket, he will have a “Back-to-School Neighbor to Neighbor” community conversation with parents and local community members to discuss how we can keep Virginia’s kids safe and ensure their opportunity for success in life. “Neighbor to Neighbor” conversations are events organized by the Kaine campaign specifically to engage with voters who in past years may not have always been involved in the political process and wouldn’t usually have access to a personal conversation with their U.S. Senator in their neighborhood.
On Wednesday evening, Kaine will hold a community conversation with members of the Latino community in Prince William County. At this event, he will focus on how to create safe and welcoming communities for all Virginians, so every family has an opportunity to get ahead.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kaine will also host a community coffee with African American women in Manassas and visit the Hermitage Northern Retirement Community for a morning discussion with seniors in Alexandria.
Media interested in attending any of these events should contact Kaine campaign press secretary Brandon Gassaway at brandon@timkaine.com.
