Kaine, Spanberger to Lay Out Their Plans to Support Veterans at Panel Discussion in Midlothian
On Wednesday, September 19, joined by veterans and members of military families, Senator Tim Kaine and 7th Congressional District Democratic nominee Abigail Spanberger will continue to lay out their plans to support veterans, service members, and military families at a panel discussion at John Tyler Community College in Midlothian. At the event, Kaine and Spanberger will address pressing concerns such as decreasing the veterans unemployment rate, providing military families with access to more job opportunities, and improving access to health care and child care.
As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, the father of a U.S. Marine, a Senator for one of the most military-connected states, and the state with the highest percentage of female veterans of any state in the nation, Kaine has long been an advocate for veterans and their families. Kaine’s first bill in the Senate, the Troop Talent Act, focused on helping veterans transition into a civilian career. Kaine has also successfully passed key provisions of bills that would assist veterans and military families, including improving access to continuing education programs, expanding transition and counseling resources, and increasing small business opportunities for military spouses.
