7 Days, 7 Ways Tim Kaine Stands Up For Virginia: Supporting Reproductive Freedom

Richmond, VA – In the final stretch of this election, the Kaine for Virginia campaign is launching “7 Days, 7 Ways Tim Kaine Stands Up For Virginia” to highlight seven ways Senator Kaine puts Virginia first in the U.S. Senate.

The seventh and final way Senator Kaine stands up for Virginia is by supporting reproductive freedom. Tim Kaine is fighting in the U.S. Senate to stand up for women across the country so they can make their own health care decisions without interference from out-of-touch politicians.

He is the lead sponsor of the only bipartisan piece of legislation to restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. Senator Kaine is also working to protect IVF from partisan attacks, voting multiple times for national safeguards for IVF so that every Virginian can build their family without interference from out-of-touch politicians. He is a cosponsor of legislation to require all insurance companies to cover IVF for federal employees.

He’s also working to make sure insurance companies follow the law and cover birth control so women can get the health care they need. And when politicians tried to defund Planned Parenthood, Tim stood up to protect women’s health.

“While Republicans are trying to overrule the will of Virginians and pass a national abortion ban, Senator Kaine is standing up for reproductive freedom in the U.S. Senate,” said Ruthanne Thongkai, Press Secretary for Kaine for Virginia. “Whether it is protecting IVF or access to birth control, Senator Kaine will continue to stand up to extremist politicians who want to interfere in the personal health care decisions of Virginians.”
