7 Days, 7 Ways Tim Kaine Stands Up For Virginia: Supporting Workers

Richmond, VA – In the final stretch of this election, the Kaine for Virginia campaign is launching “7 Days, 7 Ways Tim Kaine Stands Up For Virginia” to highlight seven ways Senator Kaine puts Virginia first in the U.S. Senate.

The fifth way Senator Kaine stands up for Virginia is by supporting workers. Senator Kaine has created good-paying jobs across Virginia and is standing up to partisan efforts that would threaten the livelihoods of Virginia workers.

Senator Kaine is leading the fight to protect civil servants by introducing legislation to prevent a Schedule F plan – which would allow Trump to fire up to 50,000 federal civil servants and replace them with political loyalists – from ever taking effect. Trump’s plan to relocate federal workers would also jeopardize the livelihoods of over 140,000 federal workers in Virginia and harm the Commonwealth’s economy.

Senator Kaine was a deciding vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which is spurring new investment around the Commonwealth and creating the good-paying jobs of the future. Because of Senator Kaine’s support, Topsoe is now bringing 150 jobs to Chesterfield, LS Greenlink is creating over 330 jobs in Chesapeake, and Volvo is adding 295 jobs.

“As the son of a union ironworker, Senator Kaine has always worked to create good-paying jobs so every Virginian has the chance to succeed,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for Kaine for Virginia. “He strongly believes Virginia has the best workforce in the country and is laser-focused on giving Virginia workers even more resources to thrive.”
