The ad points out that nearly 150,000 federal workers call Virginia home and criticizes Hung Cao’s support for a radical plan to fire these public servants. It underscores Cao’s own words to explain his stance, quoting him saying, “They’re not going to vote for me because they are the leftists, Communists, that have been destroying this country.” The ad suggests that Cao’s remarks resemble a dictatorship rather than a democracy. The narrator concludes by stating that Virginia doesn’t need a senator who spreads insults—Virginia needs Tim Kaine, who represents all Virginians.
“Hung Cao is ending his campaign the way he started it – by denigrating Virginians,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director at Kaine for Virginia. “This new digital ad will let Virginians know that rather than spewing insults like Hung Cao, Senator Kaine will be a U.S. Senator for all Virginians, no matter what region they live in or what political party they belong to.”
