“If Republicans take control in Washington and pass a national abortion ban Virginia women will have no options.”

The ad begins with highlighting that Virginia is the last state in the South without an extreme abortion ban. Then, the ad spotlights how Republicans will pass a national abortion ban, but Senator Kaine will work to protect reproductive rights in the Senate.

“We have seen the consequences from the Supreme Court overturning Roe. v. Wade, where women have died or have had to wait until they are near death to receive the reproductive health care they need. That’s why, after the disastrous ruling, Senator Kaine got right to work on the only bipartisan bill to codify reproductive rights,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for Kaine for Virginia. “Senator Kaine is fighting to protect women’s reproductive rights in the U.S. Senate and will fight any Republican effort to pass a national abortion ban that would leave Virginia women with no options. The rights of Virginia women are on the ballot this November and Senator Kaine is the only candidate in this race who will fight to protect reproductive freedom.”
