Kaine For Virginia Campaign Launches New TV Ad, “Show Up,” Highlighting His Travels Around The Commonwealth

Senator Kaine: “You have my word, the results, and the mileage to prove I’m always ready to listen and go to work.”

Richmond, VA – The Kaine for Virginia campaign launched its next TV ad, “Show Up,” highlighting Senator Kaine’s willingness to travel to every corner of the Commonwealth to listen to Virginians when his opponent won’t.

The ad begins with highlighting Senator Kaine’s opponent calling Staunton “podunk” and the drive down to Abingdon “ridonkulous.” The ad then touches on when Senator Kaine was stuck in traffic on I-95 for 27 hours with only an orange.

“Senator Kaine knows how important it is to stand up and show up for Virginians across the Commonwealth, which is why he is always meeting with and listening to Virginians,” said Michael Beyer, Communications Director for Kaine for Virginia. “With his comments insulting Staunton and Abingdon, Senator Kaine’s opponent has shown he can’t be trusted to represent all of the Commonwealth.”

  • Senator Tim Kaine: I’m Tim Kaine. I’m always on the move meeting with Virginians.
  • When my opponent called Staunton “podunk” and wouldn’t even drive to Abingdon, I didn’t get it.
  • To me, being Senator means showing up and standing up for you, even if it means being stuck in my car for 27 hours.
  • You have my word, the results, and the mileage to prove I’m always ready to listen and go to work.
  • And that’s why I approve this message.
  • Hung Cao doesn’t know what he’s missing.
